- This title is a pun on the classic book title A Tale of Two Cities. In the fourth season of ABC's Once Upon a Time, the second episode had the same title, referring to Princess Anna and Queen Elsa of Arendelle, as does a Korean horror movie.
- Cassandra meets her birth mother, albeit in spirit form, for the very first time in two decades.
- More light is shed on Gothel's own past and why she had betrayed Lord Demantius to Zhan Tiri via flashbacks
